According to research, your skin can only absorb and make use of so much light (energy) in any given amount of time.
After 15-20~ minutes, it will begin to reach a plateau and anything more than that is generally considered a waste of time and no further benefits exist.
From a client’s perspective (yours), there isn’t any difference.
Whether it’s Omnilux, Dermalux, Max+ or Xen, you’re going to get virtually identical results in the same amount of time. This is because they all operate at the same clinically proven wavelengths as one another.
The wavelength at which light is emitted, and the machines ability to hold a current, non-fluctuating wavelength is the key – not the brand name.
Omnilux was first to the market which is why LED is often associated with them. Since then some incredible LED machines have come to market.
This will vary depending on your skin concerns and treatment plan, however as a rough guide we recommend using the LED at least 1-2 two times a week, 3-4 days apart for about 6~ weeks – assuming you are trying to treat something specific.
This will give the skin the initial boost it needs and from there, we can begin to cut back the amount of sessions to about 1-2 per month for maintenance.
LED Phototherapy may provide immediate visible improvement to the skin; revitalising a dull and tired complexion and calming redness and irritation.
Results with any LED system are cumulative and a course of treatments taken in close succession is recommended for optimum results.
Regular maintenance treatments offer lasting improvement in the appearance and health of the skin.
You’ll be under the light for around 15-20 minutes (at most). Anything more and it’s simply a waste of time.
In total, you should be in and out of the studio within 30 minutes.
