What are the benefits?
Skin Needling has a huge array of benefits.

- Scar Reduction/Revision
- Acne and Acne Scarring
- Reduces pore size and improves skin texture
- Suitable for all skin types (with adequate preparation)
- Little to no down time
- Produces new growth factors

Make sure you’re comparing apples with apples. We know cheaper options exist, but from our experience, they’re cheap for a reason!
- What device is the clinic using – is it TGA approved?
- Is your skin therapist highly trained and educated on all things skin?
- Are they wearing appropriate PPE such as a mask and glasses?
- Are they wearing sterile gloves and working within a sterile field while performing the treatment?
- Are they using sterile and disposable wound dressing packs?
These are all important questions you should be asking. It’s no good paying less for something that doesn’t get your results or worse, puts your health and safety at risk!
Your health and safety is extremely important to us! That’s why we go to extraordinary measures and invest heavily in 100% sterile, single use ancillaries including cotton balls, surgical gloves, and medical-grade needling tips. No expense is spared!
Results don’t come from injury, they come from healing.
If your skin is in a bad state, barrier impaired, dry, flaky and overall struggling to heal and maintain itself, then microneedling isn’t going to correct that issue alone. It simply adds insult to injury!
We work with you – professionally and sensibly – rebuilding and strengthening your skin to ensure the best possible outcome.
Skin Needling can be performed on almost anyone however, we do adhere to strict health and safety protocols and this means we require you to undergo a Skin Health Assessment and be using prescribed home care products prior to skin needling.
This ensures that 1) there are no contraindications we need to overcome and 2) that your skin is actually healthy and ready to undergo such a treatment.
There are clinics that will happily needle your skin with no preparation whatsoever and with very little care. We feel this is grossly unprofessional and negligent and refuse to do this.
We believe in quality, not quantity – and wont perform skin needling on you ‘just because we can’. We want to make sure the treatment is right for you and can be performed safely and effectively.

Frequently Asked Questions
Although Skin Needling is suitable for most clients, there are many contraindications we need to consider and may need to overcome prior to the treatment being performed.
You must book in for a skin consultation prior to booking in for Skin Needling.
Absolutely not! The depth of injury will depend on what you’re trying to achieve.
We’ve been highly trained and educated to evaluate your skin and work within the parameters required to achieve your desired results.
Whilst everyone’s tolerance for pain is different, the simple answer is quite simply no, it doesn’t hurt.
This is not what you might imagine when you read about needles piercing the skin surface at a high speed. But with our high level of training and the precision Exceed medical microneedling device, it results in your treatments being comfortable and highly effective while pain is kept to a minimum.
Most clients experience around a 5 out of 10. Certain areas you’ll likely feel less, others may be slightly more.
The pain felt can also greatly depend on how well you’ve prepared your skin – including homecare and in-clinic treatments.
Generally, anywhere from 3-6 treatments will get you great results – but that’s a rough guide only. It will vary from one client to another depending on the skin condition and concern being treated.
Factors such as preparation time and your consistency with pre and post care and follow up treatments will all contribute to the end result.
We will be here to guide you through the entire process.
Some clients can start to see and feel results after a few weeks. The treatment is cumulative – so each one builds on the success of the previous one.
Pre and post care is vital to the end result.
One of the most exciting things about skin needling is that your results will continue to improve over the next 12 months as the new collagen and elastin settles, strengthens and rejuvenates your skin from within.
With someone else, potentially. With us, no!
Without adequate consultation and preparation, there is a greater risk of delayed healing, lack of results and quite simply a waste of your time and money.
We have a duty of care to fulfil. Any clinic that is prepared to perform such a treatment so carelessly without correct preparation shouldn’t be performing it at all.
No, topical anaesthetic or numbing cream is not used and we advise against it.
We continually undergo advanced skin needling training that allows us to perform the treatment in a way that eliminates most pain.
Not only can anaesthetic counter the effectiveness of the treatment, but it can have some serious side effects. Anaesthetic toxicity is one issue, but the potential for allergic reactions is perhaps a greater concern.
While the chance of allergic reactions are low, the risks outweigh the rewards.
We can treat most areas including the face, neck, décolletage, hands, stomach, legs and arms.
While a quality device is important, you also need to consider who is using the device on you.
Contrary to what social media would have you believe, it’s not just a matter of waving the device across your skin and hoping for the best. There is actually a very precise art to it in order to achieve optimal results.
Exceed has the highest level of industry certifications anywhere in the world and no other device currently compares. It is FDA approved, TGA listed, MedSafe Listed and holds both CE and ISO certifications.
